During the re-write process I’ve found a few holes in my writing. Nothing that my first round of readers had noticed, so maybe not significant enough to worry about, but the process of fixing them has taken a bit of time.
The other day I found a new one. A fairly big one if you actually stopped to think about it. I sat there, staring at the screen going ‘how the heck did I miss that?’.
It’s always fascinated me about the writing process that you can go with the flow of the story just like readers do and your eyes just skate over things sometimes. Even if you actually know the answer in your head, or the answer is instantly obvious.
I don’t know if ‘planners’ suffer this less than ‘pantsers’ because I don’t really have a comparison point, but I’d be interested to know what you planners think.
