A couple of times I’ve come across people discussing the shift from physical ownership of media (music /movies on a disk) to the ‘rental’ or digital-only ownership models.
I think it’s a really exciting shift in how we exist in the world as collectors and consumers, but I’m getting tired of people who embrace the digital-only approach looking down their noses at those who enjoy physical ownership. I don’t know why they think their model is inherently better, or why they see it as some kind of competition!
New isn’t always better. Sometimes it’s just different.
