Teenage witches might not be everyone’s cup-o-tae, and I’d vote for it in a “worse opening credit sequence” poll, but there is just so much to like about this film. For a start, it’s one of the only movies about a group of teen girls that isn’t predominantly about a guy. It’s also one of the few teen movies that shows highschool in a naturalistic way, without most of the teen-film stereotypes.
One of my favourite things though is that it’s dark; these girls actually hurt people. It also takes them a good teen-while to figure out that actions have consequences.
The movie has a killer soundtrack, too, which never hurts.
