Recently, I was trying to convince a writer friend that voice-to-text software might solve a drafting roadblock. Today I was thinking I should have taken my own advice.
You see, I woke up with a cold. Nothing terrible, but I really don’t feel like sitting in an ergonomically appropriate typing position (we won’t go into what I’m doing to my long-suffering shoulders to type this post).
But if I’d had the dictation software installed… well… other than the occasional stops to blow my nose, I think I could have had a productive day.
Though, the upside to not having had a productive writing day was I did spend a bunch of time researching stuff on the interwebs. There is just not a strong enough phrase for blessing the online video services for their bounty. You can learn so much from a 2 minute video!
The only downside to this research, was it was mostly about things that will distract me from writing. The different creative areas of my brain have taken shelter behind tiny walls and are currently hurling insults at each other…this may lead to war.
