Have you had the experience of not touching a project for a while and then, when you sit down to it again, it is just there ready to roll? I had that last week. It was lovely!
After a long, long break from my existing WIPs, it was a pleasant surprise to find that all the thinking I’d done a few months back had gelled and developed while I wasn’t looking. This put me in a good spot to pick up my pen and find an opening and more already there waiting for me.
So which WIP has come to the fore?
Last May, I started work on a series of novellas in a sci-fi setting. I’ve got a scratch draft of N1 and the start of a draft for N2, so now I’m working on N3! You might notice that I’ve not finished a draft for the middle one; that’s because I need to finish N3 so I know what else needs to happen in N2. (This is a series of standalone books, but they involve the same characters and are chronological.)
I’m excited to be working on a project that will be all new words. No editing!! Yes, I’m a bit over the editing after Blurty.
